Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up to training?

We paddle 2 to 3 times a week (Wednesdays from 7-9am, Saturdays from 4-6pm, and Sundays from 7-9am)

Sign up via our team management app (PLAI) or contact us via e-mail and the Captain will do their best to get you out on the water. Members can also find this link in the ‘Read Only’ Gaelics WhatsApp group.

Where do we meet?

We meet at the Kallang Dragon Boat Nursery (5 Stadium Road, Singapore, 397732).

Please make every effort to be on time for training, and arrive at least 10 minutes before the session starts. If we are late on the water, it means less rest time for the whole team!

What do I wear and what do I bring?

Do wear comfortable workout clothes and shoes (sandals or flip flops ideally). Also bring lots of water (2L is the recommended amount) and sun block.

You are also advised to bring a cap and sunglasses as it can sometimes get quite hot for the afternoon sessions in particular.

What are the benefits of membership?

Trouble Brewing

Members are entitled to a discount off the beer case selections on our sponsor Trouble Brewing’s website - you'll be given a code include at check-out. Ka-ching!

Tadcaster Hospitality

Members are entitled to a range of promotions and deals at our sponsor bars including Molly Malone’s, BQ Bar, the Exchange, and Café Melba. To access the discounts at our sponsor bars, you have a club card, which you receive with membership. How do I meet people in the club?

Fun Fridays - on the first Friday of every month, we normally meet at our sponsor pub, Molly Malone’s, for drinks and a bite to eat, or another social event. This is a great way to get to know other people in the team!

After training - We also like to meet up after training for a drink, so do come along and get to know your fellow members!

How can I get hold of some team kit?

You can purchase a race singlet at $25, rash guard at $30, and caps at $10. The stock is kept in the cage, so just speak to a member of the Committee about how to purchase through PLAI.
